The Hire: Beat the Devil is the 6th installment in the BMW films series, and the first of the second season. In it, the Driver (Owen) is hired by an aging musician (Brown) to help him renegotiate his contract with the Devil (Oldman). It was written by David Carter, Greg Hahn and Vincent Ngo, and directed by Tony Scott. It stars Clive Owen, Gary Oldman, James Brown and Danny Trejo, as well as an appearance by Marilyn Manson. The film makes several references, both visually and in its dialogue, to the 1970 film Performance.
